Chapter 6: Just one more bowl…

Kenji grabbed Draiko by his shirt as he screamed, "You want us to do what!?" right in his face.

"You heard me!" yelled Draiko as he pushed Kenji back. "Since we can't find our man the old fashion way, we're going to have to resort to the heavy artillery!"

"My lord, please! You can't be serious!" begged Sergei.

"You've done a lot of stupid things in the past, but this one takes the cake!" said Takashi.

"Please Draiko, don't have us do this! Think about those who love you!" pleaded Ayane.

"Okay, all of you just need to calm the hell down!" yelled Draiko. "We are going to search each and every one of these ramen shops until we find our man, and you will all do it!"

Everyone else had worried looks on their faces as they continued to listen to their leader's speech.

"Look, during our first attempt to locate him, I noticed that there were several ramen shops scattered throughout this whole village. If he's truly an Uzumaki, then by God he's got to have at least visited one of these shops. All I ask is that you all go in; ask them if they know anything about an Uzumaki living in the area. Chances are he's been there and left some kind of mark in that shop!"

"But Draiko…" said Kahn. "… do you not remember what happened the last time we raided a ramen shop? We're Uzumakis! We'll destroy that place with our uncontrollable thirst for ramen!"

"Then control your urges, dammit!" boasted the clan leader. "All we're doing is asking them for information. It can't be that difficult to just walk in and ask a few questions."

The rest of the group looked unsure of Draiko's plan, but they knew it was pointless to argue with him. So they decided to trust his judgment as clan leader.

"Look,…" Draiko continued to speak. "…I know this will be a huge challenge for you all, but you must be strong and not give into temptation. Don't just look at this as a plan to find our missing clan member, but as a test to see how strong your will is. You are ninja warriors. Uzumakis! We survived on our own for seventeen-years before I started this clan search. We can do this! So are you with me or not? What say you!?"

There was a few seconds of silence before Kahn stepped forward. "I'm with you, sir!"

"As am I!" shouted out Ayane, as she too stepped forward.

Soon, the other members agreed as they all stepped up to take on this challenge.

"Thank you." Draiko said. "Now, we will have to split up into groups of two. Kahn and I will search the northern quadrant of the village. Kenji, you and Sergei will search the southern quadrant. Ayane, take your sister and head to the western quadrant. Takashi, you will go and search with Ichigo to the eastern quadrant of the village. We meet back here in one hour. If any of you have any information about our missing member, transmit your thoughts to Kahn. He will be listening constantly. Stay in the area where you acquired the information so that he and I can meet you there. Is that understood?"

"Yes, sir!" they all boasted.

"Good! Now go!" yelled Draiko as he waved his arm in the air to signal the others to fan out and begin their search.

Meanwhile, Hinata was hiding behind another stack of crates as she spied on Draiko's group with her Byakugan. She was shocked to see that Draiko was not only still alive, but had created a team as well.

'It can't be!' she thought to herself. 'The hooded man is still alive? How is that possible? I saw him fall off that bridge! No way could he've survived that fall! What on earth is he doing here and what is he looking for? This is bad, very, very bad.'

Hinata then emerged from the her hiding spot as she continued to track Draiko with her Byakugan. "Whatever this guy is looking for, I bet it's something bad. Well, I'm not going to sit here and watch him get away with it!"

Hinata then began to follow Draiko but at a good enough distance to keep herself hidden from Draiko.

Draiko and Kahn continued to leap across the rooftops of the nearby buildings as they began their part of the search.

"My lord, Draiko." Kahn called out.

"What is it, Kahn?" replied Draiko.

"How do you know this plan will work?"

"Like I said, the guy we're looking for is an Uzumaki. No Uzumaki can resist the sweet smell of ramen flowing in the air."

"That's not what I meant, sire."

Draiko then turned to Kahn with a puzzled look on his face. "What do you mean, then?" he asked.

"I mean, how can you be sure that the others will control themselves without you around to discipline them?"

Draiko started to chuckle. "Don't worry, my friend. I have complete and utter confidence in them."

The two continued leaping and free-running off of buildings until they came to a busy area of the village. There were several shops and restaurants in this area; a perfect spot to place a ramen shop or two.

"Well Kahn, shall we?" said Draiko.

The two looked at each other with unsure looks on their faces before walking into the large crowd of people. They then started to look around the area, trying their best to find a ramen shop in the area, but so far no luck.

"Sire, we've been looking around this place for a while now." said Kahn. "So far I've only seen barbeque restaurants, sushi bars, and hibachi grills, but no sign of any ramen shops."

"Don't fret my friend. There's bound to be one around here somewhere, we just have to keep looking." Draiko said with a confident tone of voice.

"Let's just face it, my lord, we're never gonna find a ramen shop in all this…" suddenly Kahn stopped talking as his nose picked up a sudden smell in the air. The smell was as if it descended from Heaven itself. The aroma filled both nostrils of Kahn's nose as all negativity was washed away.

Kahn quickly followed the scent as it led him to a place he wish it hadn't.

"My lord!" Kahn cried out.

"What is it Kahn? Did you find something?" Draiko asked as he walked over to Kahn, who looked like he'd seen a ghost. "Kahn what's wrong?"

Kahn nervously lifted his hand as he pointed to the building in front of them. Draiko slowly followed where he was pointing to see that they were both standing in front of a mediocre ramen shop.

The two of them stood stiff as they both stared wide-eyed at the restaurant. The seconds passed by into minutes before any of them did anything.

"So, we found a ramen shop." said Draiko with a frightened tone of voice.

"Indeed we did." Kahn replied with the same tone of voice.

"Now what do we do?"

"Didn't you say we're supposed to go into every ramen shop and ask for questions about our missing clan member?"

"Oh yeah, I guess I did."

"So, are we going to go in or what?"

"After you."

"I thought it was the leader's duty to lead in the field of battle."

"Yeah, but this isn't a battle, it's an interrogation."

"True but you're still the leader; therefore you need to 'lead'."

"You know Kahn, for an old man you sure whine like a child."

"Hey! I'm not old, I'm 43."

"And that's not old?"

"Fine! My lord, let's just please do something!"

"Ugh, fine!" Draiko took a long deep breath before slowly making his way towards the ramen shop, with Kahn following close behind him.

As they got closer and closer to the ramen shop, the sweet smell of ramen started to make their hearts pound uncontrollably. Sweat started to fall from their heads as each antagonizing moment gnawed at them like a beast. However, the two did manage to enter inside the shop. Unfortunately, they were blinded by the magnificent scent of the ramen bowls being eaten by the other customers.

"Hello! Welcome to Kasumi's Ramen Shop. How may I help you?" called out the female chef behind the bar.

Draiko and Kahn just stared nervously at her and then at each other before slowly making their way towards her.

"Um… hi there…" Draiko said with a very nervous tone. "I was just wondering… if you could, uh… help us."

"Sure." said the chef with a smile. "How may I help you, sir?"

Both Draiko and Kahn's heart rate increased dramatically as each second went by and the smell of delicious ramen started to overwhelm their minds; making it hard for Draiko to concentrate on his question.

"We… we were just, uh… wondering if, uh… a certain somebody… came here recently." Draiko said with sweat beating down his face.

"Well that all depends." said the chef. "A lot of people came in today, so you're going to have to be more specific."

"Um… okay. Uh, he's a relative of ours and, uh…" Draiko's urge to ask for ramen was starting to become unbearable. He had to keep reminding himself about the mission, but no matter how many times he kept repeating it to himself, his thirst for ramen was going out of control. He had to do something to resist it.

Then that's when Draiko lashed out at the chef and grabbed her by her shirt as he screamed, "Ma'am, have you any memory of an Uzumaki visiting this shop!?"

Both the chef and the other customers were appalled at Draiko's statement as they just stared wide-eyed at him.

The chef, now scared out of her mind, quickly answered, "No, I don't know anything about anyone with that name coming here. Please, don't hurt me!"

"Thank you very much!" yelled Draiko as he let go of the chef, grabbed Kahn, and quickly rushed out of the restaurant. They then stumbled onto the ground as they started to hyperventilate; eyes wide as an owl's, and beads of sweat dripping from their faces like a faucet.

"That… was not… how I imagined it would go!" said Draiko.

"Lord Draiko, please, for the love of God, don't ever let me go through that again! I can still smell their ramen from here and I can't stand it anymore! Let's just get the hell outta here!"

"I couldn't agree with you more, but we still have half an hour before we meet back with the group."

"Oh, c'mon!"

"Look, I'm sorry, but I gave the order and I'm not about to go back on it! What kind of a leader would I be if I start to disobey my own orders?"

"So what do you propose we do, sire?"

Draiko sat there and thought for a moment before coming up with a plan. "Look, why don't we just split up and search this area. If we can't find any other ramen shops then we'll just wait out the rest of the time, okay?"

"Okay, sounds like a good idea." said Kahn as he and Draiko got up and readied themselves.

"And if we find anything, we communicate by thought, got it?"

"Got it!"

"Okay, go!"

With that said, Draiko and Kahn split up as they searched the rest of their part of the village.

As Draiko continued his search, little did he know that a suspicious Hinata Hyuga was following him.

'Good, they split up again.' Hinata thought to herself. 'Now I can catch him off guard.' She then proceeded to follow Draiko by hiding amongst the crowd of people.

Draiko weaved his way through the crowd of people as he kept looking for another ramen shop in the area.

Hinata quickened her pace as she got closer and closer to Draiko. It wouldn't be long until she got her chance to pounce on him. She was only about twenty yards away before Draiko suddenly disappeared at a nearby alleyway.

"What, where did he go?" Hinata said as she rushed over to the spot. She activated her Byakugan to scan the area for any signs of his presence, but she couldn't find anything. "That's impossible, there's no way he got away that quickly."

Suddenly, a hand reached out and grabbed Hinata into the alleyway. She was then thrown to the ground as Draiko emerged from the wall he was hiding in. He quickly drew his sword and held it in front of Hinata to prevent her from getting up.

"Okay, punk!" shouted Draiko. "What's the big idea following me…" Draiko never finished his sentence once he saw Hinata's face. "Oh, hell no! Hyuga-Girl? Is that you?"

"I told you to stop calling me that!" yelled Hinata as she quickly got up and drew a kunai knife.

"What are you doing here?" Draiko asked.

"What am I doing here? I live here you idiot! Most importantly, why are you here? You're supposed to be dead!"

"Dead? Why would I be dead?" Draiko said with a confused look on his face.

"Because you fell off that bridge we fought on a year ago!" Hinata now had an annoyed look on her face.

"Bridge, bridge, bridge… Oh yeah! Now I remember. I destroyed the bridge in an attempt to kill us both. Ha, I remember that." Draiko now started to laugh. This only confused Hinata even more.

"Stop laughing! Why are you still alive?" Hinata yelled.

"Isn't it obvious? I survived the fall. Duh! What's your problem?"

"My problem? I'll tell you what my problem is. Ever since I saw one of your goons running around the village I've been trying to convince myself that the most feared person I fought was dead. And now, here I am having a weird conversation with him."

"Well, sorry for the painful memories, but I have no time for this. In case you haven't noticed I'm a little busy right now. I have no intention on fighting anyone, least of all you. So good day!" Draiko then sheathed his sword as he walked away from Hinata.

This only made Hinata run after him. "Hold it! We're not done talking here. What do you mean you're busy? Busy doing what?"

Draiko was now becoming annoyed with her. He knew he couldn't continue the mission with Hinata breathing down his neck. He had to do something to get rid of her. That's when he decided to turn around and tell her everything.

"Okay, fine! You wanna know what I'm up to? I'll tell you!"

Hinata stood there to hear what Draiko had to say.

"I am here looking for someone vital to my clan."

"Your clan?"

"That's right. My clan. He's hiding around here somewhere, and I'm not going to stop until I find him."

"Oh? And just who is this person and why would they be here?"

"Well, from what I could gather up, this guy has lived here his whole life. As for who he is, I don't know what he looks like or what his first name is. But thank God I know what his last name is."

Hinata still had the kunai knife in her hand and tightened her grip on it. If Draiko was going to say the name she thought he was going to say, she was going shove that knife right in his face.

"Let's see, his last name was… NOW KAHN!!!"

Suddenly, Kahn appeared behind Hinata, but before Hinata could react to his presence Kahn had already tapped her forehead; causing her to suddenly lose consciousness. Draiko quickly caught her before she could hit the ground. Draiko then let out a sigh of relief.

"Do you mind telling me what the hell that was all about!?" yelled Kahn.

"Sorry." Draiko said. "She caught me off guard, it's no big deal."

"No big deal? She seemed to know who you were. You're lucky I was listening to your thoughts otherwise I wouldn't have heard your distress signal. Draiko, what happened to keeping a low profile?"

"It was a minor setback, Kahn. Like I said, it's no big deal. Now grab her feet and help me carry her into the alley. We can't just leave her here on the ground in front of all these people."

Kahn did as he was told as he and Draiko carried Hinata's unconscious body into the alley, where they hid her behind a few crates.

"Kahn, I hope you didn't give her any serious brain-damage, or anything." said Draiko.

"Oh, don't worry about her, sire. I just wiped her memory a little bit. By the time she wakes up, she'll think this whole thing was a terrible dream."

"Okay, good. Dang! The two of us have been through so much in this part of the village. I can't imagine what the others are going through."

Meanwhile, in the southern quadrant of the village, Sergei and Kenji were in Ichiraku's Ramen shop, where they tried to find their man. Unfortunately, their so-called "strong will" wasn't strong enough to withstand the smell and taste of the ramen served there. Both Sergei and Kenji were stuffing themselves with ramen at an uncontrollable rate.

The other customers inside the shop were baffled at the fact that these two men could eat so much ramen in such a behavior. The chef and his daughter stood behind the bar and watched the men gobble down each bowl, one by one.

"Dang." said the chef. "I haven't seen someone eat my ramen this crazy since Naruto was last here."

Sergei and Kenji continued to stuff ramen down their throats as Sergei responded to the chef's statement. "Naruto, huh? He must really love this stuff if he eats it as much as we do."

"Oh, you have no idea. He's a real monster when he comes to my shop with an empty stomach. I wonder if all Uzumakis eat ramen as much as he does."

Kenji and Sergei suddenly stopped eating as they both stared at the chef.

"Excuse me." Sergei said. "This Naruto guy, did you just say that his last name was Uzumaki?"

"Well of course. Naruto Uzumaki is his name." said the chef with a smile.

Sergei and Kenji then stared at each other just seconds before running out of the shop to get their leader.
Well, here it is guys!!! Chapter 6!! Seems Draiko's search is about to come to an end. Let's hope he doesn't find out about Kenji and Sergei's disobedience.:paranoid:lol

Dude I can't stop laughing, this chapter is freaking hilarious!!!

I loved it when Kahn said: "But Draiko…" said Kahn. "… do you not remember what happened the last time we raided a ramen shop? We're Uzumakis! We'll destroy that place with our uncontrollable thirst for ramen!"

And I about died laughing at this part: Hinata still had the kunai knife in her hand and tightened her grip on it. If Draiko was going to say the name she thought he was going to say, she was going shove that knife right in his face.

"Let's see, his last name was… NOW KAHN!!!"

I knew you'd like it! My favorite part is when Draiko yells the question at the female chef, she freaks out, and Draiko says,"Thank you very much!"
